The U.S. loses thousands of lives to gun violence every year, but it doesn't have to be that way. We need Congress to take very serious steps to prevent these horrific and senseless tragedies that are happening all too often.

I support reinstating an assault weapon ban at the Federal level, to get weapons of war out of the home and decrease the likelihood of mass shootings. 

We need federally lawful waiting periods, universal background checks, federal licensing, and registration systems, and ERPO (extreme risk protection order) laws to work towards keeping firearms out of the wrong hands.
